| Brittany It's on the north coast. We spent one day here visiting Mont St. Michel, a "fairy tale" castle that was the locale for the closing scene of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Fishing and oystering are big here and we enjoyed some scenic views. |
| Mont St Michel was built as a Benedictine monastery on a small island off the coast of Brittany in the tenth century. Before a causeway was built, you had to wait for low tide to walk to it. |
