"...I was blown away by the performance of a 25’ wire beam ant…I am not blowing
smoke…this thing just flat out works!... I have not put up my full size Lightning Bolt
quad which I know is a super ant. I just flat get out too well consistently to make it
worth the effort to change out ants. "
Doug, WA3ZHG, Pa, Aug 2011
...Europe sounds like it is in my back yard.....It is the best antenna I have ever used...
James, W6PST, CA, Aug 2011
WOW! What an amazing beam. Super easy to put together and the instructions were
well thought out. ...Your design...is the correct way to build a compact wire beam.
Charlie, N3HSH, PA, July 2011
Thank you for making this product and backing it up with great service! In today's
world of dismal customer service, your company stands out as a great example of
how business should be conducted!
Jim, AI4SR, KY, May 2011
Best ham radio purchase bang for the buck I have ever made. Up about 35 ft. It's now
been through a few wind storms, (most recently the big ones when the tornadoes hit
in this area) and one medium ice storm. It's flawless and the reports I get back are
always good.
Trevor, VK8TH, Darwin AUS, Apr 2011
The workmanship was excellent, the installation instructions simple to follow and
the attention to detail showed. My wife and I assembled the antenna in around (2)
hours...
The performance has just been magnificent, its chalk and cheese with my other
antennas, as a matter of fact it’s driving me nuts trying to tinker with my other
antennas to get them to work anywhere near the level the HexBeam is working. I
quite simply can’t hear stations that the HexBeam pulls in at S9.
Earl, WA4AWK, FLA, Mar 2011
"I must say that it is far beyond my expectations! It still hasn't left the ground, due to
having to buy a new mast, so it is sitting on a picnic table in the back yard, ...and I just
got done working GM6NX in Scotland and G3TLD in England."
David, VK4BDJ, AUS, Feb 2011
"It is a very well made product...We had a cyclone go thru North Queensland...The
winds here got up to approx 140-160kmh and the Hex beam which is up about 25ft
to the baseplate stood up extremely well."
Bob, N3PPH, Md, Sept 2010
"I just put the K4KIO hex together and I was amazed at how easy it was. I am
disabled and not too mobile, still was easy for me."
Bill, WD8JWJ, Ohio, Sept 2010
"I bought the K4KIO because it was plug & play. Fool proof assembly... I should have
capitalized PLAY, that it does."
Bill, N8VWI, Mich., Sept 2010
"I bought the K4KIO hex beam because I wanted a 6 band beam... The reason I didn't
go with the DX engineering beam, is because I read the instructions and didn't like
the erector set concept. I wanted an antenna, not a building project. It took me about
3 hours on a rainy afternoon."
Allen, KA5N, Texas, Sept 2010
"Signal reports are great. Europeans give me two or three more S units than my
vertical on 17 meters. Received signals are much stronger and the antenna is
QUIET!! Assembly was a snap. Not having to measure and cut wires really helps so
a leisurely three hours was all it took."
Stan, K5NY, Texas, July 2010
"I now have great reports on all six bands. I keep getting reports like your signal
booming in, you have a great setup, 5/9 plus, etc. I usually am getting better reports
than I can give back. Best report is 5/9 plus 40, and still haven't hooked up the amp.
Steven, K7STD, WA, June 2010
"For a new ham such as myself (licensed first part of February 2010) the excellent
instructions and quality materials and fabrication as well as your very timely support
made this project a real joy to install. I probably take more pride in it than I deserve,
but, it works! One of my first contacts was Malaysia on 20M. Gave me confidence
that I too can work DX."
Chuck, WA4IIF, FLA, May 2010
"After getting it up on the telescopic mast I made contacts on 20 and 17 meters. On
20 meters, I made SSB contacts with Kuwait and Jordan, my first QSO's with those
countries! So far, I'm very pleased with the hex beam's performance.
Many thanks to you for your high performance hex beam and great customer service!"
Greg, VK2GJC, Australia, January 2010
"Due to my local council restrictions I could only install it 8mtrs high. The SWR is very
low on all bands and and I am have received great signal reports from everyone. I
am very impressed with your product and service."
Scott, VA3IED, Canada, December 2009
The Hex is working great and I am enjoying using it a lot. I run a lot of QRP and it is
really fun to do it with a beam that works as well as this...also, we had a big freezing
rain storm come through a few days ago. Trees were snapping off limbs and power
lines were down. I looked at the beam and there was virtually no change--the wires
were a little more droopy but thats it."
Roger, ZS6RJ, South Africa, December 2009
"I'm impressed with the hardware and quality - very nice indeed...We had a nice 15
metre opening into the States this evening and I worked 103 Stateside stations SSB
in 40 minutes using 50 watts from an IC7000 coast-to-coast with S5 to S9 reports!
This broadband version is working out well beyond expectation - there's no need to
put up anything bigger!"
Wayne, M0HRC, United Kingdom, June 2009
"Hexbeam is up on the mast and working superb. First call on the new antenna into
py6 my report was 5/9+ with 100 watts. The best report I had before with the
cushcraft ma5b was 5/7 with 400 watts. Superb antenna."
Bruce, WB2LSU, FLA, April 2009
"Just tested the K4KIO hex. You know the WOW factor. This is it. Clearly no
comparison with the old and new. I am in S. Florida and made a QSO in NY. He was
barely above the noise and I confirmed a solid 5/9 with the K4KIO and the band was
not even open. Runs an SWR of 1.5 at 20, 1.5 at 17 and 1.4 at 15. The antenna is
only 2 feet over the roof to hide it from the neighbors..."
